Twenty-Fourth Sunday after Pentecost
Amos 5: 18-24 | Matthew 25:1-13
In Matthew 25, Jesus is teaching his disciples and the crowd during his final week in Jerusalem. The chapter contains the final three parables of Jesus’ teaching—the 10 bridesmaids, the talents, and the great judgment in which Jesus talks of separating people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. In each parable we’re faced with the question “Who are we in the parable? The wise or the foolish bridesmaid, the entrepreneurial or the fearful servant, the sheep or the goat?”
The Rev. John Shillingburg will be preaching and leading worship. Spirit will be sharing in music leadership this morning.
