September 14 – Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost

1 Timothy 1:12-17 | Luke 15:1-10
The first lesson today is from 1 Timothy 1:12-17. The Apostle Paul says of his former life, “I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief.” In our Gospel lesson, Luke 15:1-10, Jesus’ critics grumble against him because, “This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them.” In response, Jesus tells them stories about a searching shepherd, a seeking woman, and a waiting father who all went to extraordinary lengths to retrieve that which is lost.
The Season of Stewardship begins. Spirit will share in music leadership this morning.
